Thomas joined PwC China, Beijing office in 2008. Previously, he worked in the Taxation Branch affiliated to Beijing Municipal Office, State Administration of Tax for 20 years, where he accumulated abundant experiences in international tax and transfer pricing.
Thomas is experienced in assisting MNEs in solving complex transfer pricing issues, such as formulating defence and negotiation strategies and applying APAs. His professional knowledge and experiences cover industries such as pharmaceutical, automotive, telecommunication, electronics, investment management and fast-moving consumer goods and luxury goods industries, etc.
Thomas was involved in China's first BAPA with European countries, the first APA in Beijing, the first APA in Tianjin, and a number of other current and concluded BAPAs with different countries including Korea and US.
Thomas participated in numerous tax audits, tax inspection, transfer pricing audits, and transfer pricing negotiation with multinational corporations, from which he has built up extensive China tax and transfer pricing experience. He handled many defence cases of MNEs, assisted the enterprises to settle tax controversy and dispute with viable solutions. He has also established close working relationship with the tax authorities.
