Indirect Tax Leader, PwC China
Robert is the China Indirect Tax Leader at PwC. He has 24 years of professional experience working in Sydney, Beijing and currently, Shanghai. Robert has led the Central China Indirect Tax group for more than 7 years, where he is primarily involved in business tax to VAT transformation, supply chain initiatives and business model migration projects. He also leads PwC’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications’ tax team in Central China, assisting clients in different sectors including software, e-commerce, telecom, etc.
Robert serves both local and multinational clients. He has acted as general regional tax coordinator for a number of MNCs and actively assists clients in indirect tax advisory services, restructuring, tax efficiency review, ruling application, tax audit defence, etc.
He has extensive experience in providing tax and business solutions to various industries, including manufacturing, technology media and telecommunications, transportation and logistics, retail, banking and insurance, real estate and construction, consumer service, etc.
Robert’s work experience includes a two-year secondment to a major US automotive company. While there, he acquired valuable knowledge in the implementation of tax projects and coordination with the different in-house departments. Consequently, he is able to incorporate that skill set and international perspective in his service to his clients.
Robert graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University with the major of Computer Science,and he is a member of the CICPA and a Certified Tax Agent.
