Rob Derrett

Robert (Rob) Derrett is an Assurance partner based in China. He provides audit, accounting and regulatory advice, and attest services to several European and Hong Kong multinational corporations operating in China, as well as Chinese foreign private issuers registered in the United States. Rob has extensive experience of auditing and providing other assurance services to companies operating across China in the technology, pharmaceuticals, real-estate, manufacturing, and education sectors. He has also been the audit partner on IPOs of Chinese companies on the New York and Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Rob leads the Assurance Digital Transformation programme, and is a member of the Assurance Leadership Executive. This role includes overseeing the roll out of new technology and driving changes to our operating model. He led the establishment of the service delivery centre in China. He was also previously our Human Capital Leader in Assurance.

Prior to joining PwC China, Rob worked in our UK firm. He is a United Kingdom citizen but has worked in China for more than 20 years, first coming to Beijing in 1996, and has made Beijing his permanent home. 

Rob graduated with honours from the University of Plymouth, where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Finance & Accounting. He is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
