Mainland China and Hong Kong Corporate Treasury Leader, PwC Hong Kong
Ian is a partner in PwC Hong Kong, where he has spent more than 20 years. He is the Corporate Treasury Leader for PwC mainland China & Hong Kong, and a member of PwC’s Corporate Treasury Solutions team, and its Banking & Cash Management network. These global teams develop practical guidance to assist clients with their treasury needs across the entire spectrum, from risk management strategy and treasury controls to helping clients improve their banking relationships, including improving their liquidity solutions.
In particular, Ian has helped numerous mainland China/Hong Kong clients to develop or enhance their FX and commodity risk management strategies, policies and procedures. Ian also chairs PwC's global Corporate Treasury Technical Committee.
In addition to his activities in the corporate treasury arena, Ian is also a Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services partner in PwC Hong Kong. He is one of the founding members of PwC’s Global IFRS group, established in 2006, which is responsible for finding solutions to complex financial reporting issues under international standards. Over the years, Ian has chaired various global IFRS groups/committees within PwC and previously was the IFRS Leader for PwC in India.
Outside PwC, Ian has been appointed as a convenor of the Financial Reporting Review Panel of the Financial Reporting Council by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Previously, Ian was a member of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee at the HKICPA, and remains a member of the HKICPA’s financial instruments and leasing working groups.
