Cathy Kai Jiang

Cathy is the partner of Tax and China Business Advisory Service with PwC. She is also the in-charge partner of Southern China Domestic Market Initiative (DMI) tax team. As a very experienced China tax expert, Cathy specializes in providing M&A tax due diligence review, deal negotiation support, tax restructuring and post-deal integration services for both MNCs and domestic enterprises in various industries. She has directly been involved in major M&A transactions including buy and sell side due diligence, deal structure advice for extensive industries such as energy, transportation and logistics, software and e-commerce, infrastructure, healthcare, financial services etc. She has rich experience in the development and implementation of tax strategies and regulations for corporate group structuring and restructuring, business optimization, investment structuring, foreign exchange strategies and tax planning, etc.

As the leader of the Southern China DMI tax team, she has been extensively involved in a large number of A-share, overseas IPO projects as well as China domestic outbound investment plan for China-based enterprises. Cathy's good connection with many Chinese government officials, her understanding of the China tax regulation and the Chinese culture, and her large network of international tax contribute in formulating pragmatic deal negotiation and post-deal integration strategies.

Cathy holds a MBA of South Colombia University and Bachelor Degree from the Dongbei University of International Finance and Economy. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of China (CICPA), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Taxation Accountants of China (CICTA) and a member of the Tax Institute of Hong Kong (HKTI) as well. She is also an editor committee member of the China Tax Intelligence (CCH) as well as a member of the Hong Kong Women Accounting General Chamber of Commerce. Cathy also contributes to a wide range of tax papers to the journals of the professional institutions, newspapers and business journals. She was honoured China M&A Service Awards 2014.
